On superactivation of one-shot zero-error quantum capacity and the related property of quantum measurements

چکیده
We begin with a detailed description of a low dimensional quantum channel (dA = 4, dE = 3) demonstrating the symmetric form of superactivation of one-shot zero-error quantum capacity. This means appearance of a noiseless (perfectly reversible) subchannel in the tensor square of a channel having no noiseless subchannels. Then we describe a quantum channel Φ such that Q̄0(Φ) = 0 and Q̄0(Φ⊗ Φ) ≥ log n for any n ≤ +∞. We also show that the superactivation of one-shot zero-error quantum capacity of a channel can be reformulated in terms of quantum measurements theory as appearance of an indistinguishable subspace for tensor product of two observables having no undistinguishable subspaces.

Information geometric superactivation of classical zero-error capacity of quantum channels
This paper introduces a fundamentally new method of finding the conditions for the superactivation of the zero-error capacity of quantum channels. The zero-error capacity of the quantum channel describes the amount of information which can be transmitted perfectly through a noisy quantum channel. The superactivation of the zero-error capacity of quantum channels makes it possible to use two qua...
متن کاملInformation Geometric Superactivation of Asymptotic Quantum Capacity and Classical Zero-Error Capacity of Zero-Capacity Quantum Channels
The superactivation of zero-capacity quantum channels makes it possible to use two zerocapacity quantum channels with a positive joint capacity at the output. Currently, we have no theoretical background for describing all possible combinations of superactive zerocapacity channels; hence, there may be many other possible combinations. In this PhD Thesis I provide an algorithmic solution to the ...
متن کاملWhen does noise increase the quantum capacity?
Superactivation is the property that two channels with zero quantum capacity can be used together to yield a positive capacity. Here we demonstrate that this effect exists for a wide class of inequivalent channels, none of which can simulate each other. We also consider the case where one of two zero-capacity channels is applied, but the sender is ignorant of which one is applied. We find examp...
متن کاملEntanglement can completely defeat quantum noise.
We describe two quantum channels that individually cannot send any classical information without some chance of decoding error. But together a single use of each channel can send quantum information perfectly reliably. This proves that the zero-error classical capacity exhibits superactivation, the extreme form of the superadditivity phenomenon in which entangled inputs allow communication over...
متن کاملQuasi-Superactivation of Classical Capacity of Zero-Capacity Quantum Channels
One of the most surprising recent results in quantum Shannon theory is the superactivation of the quantum capacity of a quantum channel. This phenomenon has its roots in the extreme violation of additivity of the channel capacity and enables to reliably transmit quantum information over zerocapacity quantum channels. In this work we demonstrate a similar effect for the classical capacity of a q...
